Carlsbad Caverns is situated in the Guadalupe Mountains of southeastern New Mexico. The park features a large preserved wilderness area, though the main attraction is the show cave, Carlsbad Cavern. Tourists can hike into the cave through the natural entrance or take an elevator from the visitor center and visit The Big Room, the largest limestone chamber in the US.
